Personal Dream Interpretation Service

Throughout time the dream has fascinated the imagination of man and from the earliest writings of Greek philosophy we find attempts to understand dreaming from a scientific standpoint. From the very early years of Freud, the interpretation of the dream in psychoanalysis has enhanced therapeutic process. Dreams can offer a way into our inner psyche or unconscious world and reveal to us things we cannot see or feel in our waking world.

The dream is an intermediary product of the thinking process. It is a phenomenon that occurs during sleep or on the threshold of awakening. Dreams reflect intra-psychic processes which are ever recurrent in each and every individual. The study and interpretation of dreams is to follow the sometimes winding path of our natural instincts, inner hopes, changes, desires and fears and sometimes the expression of conflicts that have long existed in our minds, as they float up from the unconscious mind to meet with our waking thought and to try make sense of that which sometimes seems a nonsense.

Reoccurring dreams or nightmares can cause distress and concern. Dreams are a natural way of discharging emotional energy, relieving emotional pressure. For eg: you are in a meeting at work and someone is deliberately making you appear foolish. You may feel like physically attacking them but you know that you cannot do this and keep your job. That night you may dream that you are being pursued and attacked, you turn and fight. You can relieve the emotional pressure of your waking anger in your dream safely and without danger to yourself. Dream interpretation is an effective way of helping you to better understand the context and content of your dream material which can provide relief and promote greater emotional awareness.

Our counsellors use dream interpretive methods which includes; Jungian Symbolism, Gestalt and Psychodynamic techniques.
